Military Service 

David W. Baker was inducted into the US Army in August of 1966 and was trained as a Military Fire Fighter. He was attached to the USARAL (United States Army Reserve Alaska) for 1 year, 8 months, and 4 days (DD-214 lists that he served in Foreign/Sea Service,  however, unable to determine his Foreign or Sea service location) out of a total enlistment time of 1 year, 11 months, and 1 day, and attained the rank of Sergeant (T) (E-5). He was released from active duty in August of 1972. During his service he was awarded the following: National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Expert (M14) and 3 Over Seas Bar (each bar represents 6 months of service).

Additionally, David joined the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department in April of 1964 and retired in July of 1999 from his last duty station #1. During his career he attained the rank of Deputy Chief.

Details 

We will stage at the support vehicle for our briefing and assist establishing the flag line if necessary. We will stand the flag line to greet the family and friends of our Veteran and Retired Firefighter. The family has requested the PGR fold and present the US Flag, followed by the presentation of the COA. At the completion of the presentations, we will strike the flag line, store them in the support vehicle, be debriefed and dismissed.

Funeral Processions/Escorts

EVERY RIDER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for their own safety at all times while riding in a funeral procession. 

At NO TIME are any riders authorized to block any intersection or otherwise block or impede traffic laws in any way.  Only Law Enforcement officials are authorized to block and/or impeded the lawful flow of traffic.

If you choose to fly a flag on your bike you are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for ensuring it is secured and not a danger to any other rider or traffic. 

                                                                                 High Temperatures

It's every RIDER'S PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to hydrate prior to attending a mission. 

Begin drinking water the night before.  Drink water when you wake up and continue drinking water all day to ensure your body stays hydrated.
