There are many unaccompanied or buried without honors veterans that are interred at DFW National Cemetery each month. We have only recently become aware of these inurnments or interments and have taken action to honor these Veterans.
The reasons these veterans did not receive honors during their burial vary widely but through a collaboration between DFW National Cemetery Staff and the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders a service has been created to honor these veterans on the third Wednesday of each month at 15:30.
Further details will be available at the mission briefing the day of the mission.
At the mission briefing, Riders will be informed of the Order of Service developed for our Third Wednesday Honor Roll Missions. Following the briefing, Riders will move to the appropriate shelter, pull into the shelter parking up on the far left side to allow passage of the cemetery representative's car on the right. They will then set the flags along the walkway leading up to the shelter and prepare to stand the flag line upon the arrival of the cemetery representative carrying the flag which will be used in the Service. After the Service, flags will be returned to the locker, furled and stowed. The riders will then be debriefed and dismissed.
NOTICE: PGR flag folders will be needed at every Third Wednesday Honor Roll Service.
